COVID-19 TESTING IN NORCROSS

Minimal Wait Time for COVID-19 Testing at Your Local Clinic

Gwinnett Urgent Care & Family Practice offers COVID-19 testing, with or without an appointment, to our local community. We are committed to helping you identify whether your symptoms are due to COVID-19 or something else. To determine this, we can perform either PCR or rapid antigen testing at our medical center.

Our COVID tests are free with insurance. If you are paying out-of-pocket, we offer a free PCR test with your rapid antigen COVID-19 test and your office visit. If you visit our medical center before noon, we offer same-day results for PCR tests. Our team members speak English, Vietnamese, and Spanish.

If you think you may have COVID-19, get tested today by visiting us during office hours. You can also book an appointment by calling us at 470-275-4911 or using our online form

When to Get Tested for COVID-19

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), you should get tested if you experience symptoms of COVID-19 and/or have been in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19 (within 6 feet for 15 minutes or more within 24 hours of exposure). Even if you are fully vaccinated, we recommend you get tested after known exposure to the virus, whether or not you show symptoms.

COVID-19 symptoms to watch for include:

  • Fever
  • Cough or sore throat
  • Shortness of breath
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting

When you travel internationally, COVID-19 testing may be mandatory at your destination, so we recommend that you check the requirements before your departure. Before boarding a flight to the United States, you must show proof of a negative COVID-19 or documentation of recovery, even if you are a fully vaccinated US citizen.

PCR and Rapid Antigen COVID-19 Tests

COVID-19 testing looks for current infection with SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Our team only uses diagnostic tests approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). We offer you two COVID-19 testing options: PCR (molecular) and rapid antigen. Both generally use a nasal swab to collect a fluid sample, which our professionals then analyze. The PCR method uses a lab technique called polymerase chain reaction (PCR). We can offer same-day results thanks to our on-site laboratories.

When done by healthcare experts, both tests provide accurate results, although the rapid test may sometimes register a false negative. If there is any concern about a negative rapid antigen test result, we may recommend a PCR test for confirmation.

If you need a COVID-19 test, we can conduct a PCR or rapid antigen test. Call us at 470-275-4911 or make an appointment via our online contact form. We also accept walk-ins!
